My Summer Adventure

How I spent my Summer Vacation!

My summer has been fairly calm and laid back until I decided to go on an adventure.  Actually it wasn't really planned to turn out as it did.

Let the adventure begin- on Thursday, me, Elyse, Bob - his two sisters Bonnie and Janie and Kate, Bonnie's daughter went rafting.

Bob and Mike both convinced me I would be "OK" nothing to worry about.  So I trusted them.

Keep in mind we have had rain for a few days and it continued to rain on and off our entire trip.

Let's just say - it was FUN, it was an ADVENTURE, and NO I will never go again.

The water was a bit fierce and being the "extreme sports woman" I am, when that raft flipped over I was in a bit of a panic.

We all survived - a bit shaken - but we made it.

From that adventure I went on to Carolyn and Tom's in Tannersville, VA.  We get up Friday morning and crossed 2 mountains, only to find the craft show we were going to, was the next weekend.  The Dollar Tree provided some much needed fun and stomach settling.

We visited a winery and then had the most amazing meal at the most amazing place ---CUZ's.  I have tried 2 other times to go there, and both times the place has burnt down --- interesting I know.

It was the best meal I have had in forever.

In the following pictures you will see the "tye-dyed" shirts Carolyn and I got sporting Cuz's uniqueness.

Then family picnic time -- Carolyn and I made a dandy meal for everyone.  Jack was the only sibling missing - but who needs Jack when you've got Amelia standing in for him.

Most of us hadn't seen her since Christmas.  Oh how sweet she is!

Then on Sunday morning Tom, Carolyn and I headed to Grayson Highlands State Park.  It was a beautiful place , after you got over the 3 or maybe it was 4 mountains.  Carolyn demonstrated basket weaving and Tom and I wandered around.  I had my big camera and really had fun with my zoom lense.

Then we met Mike in Abingdon for dinner (after we crossed at least 5 more mountains).

You have to have a strong GUT to visit all the places I went.

But I am an Extreme Sports Woman after all.
